Vince also has an update about the impending labour action in Ontario as members of the Ontario Pipe Trades Council vote whether to accept the last minute and final contract proffered by the Mechanical Contractors Association of Ontario (MCAO), before handing off the podcast to Journal of Commerce digital media editor Warren Frey and staff writer Russell Hixson.
Russell attended the recent Canada Gas & LNG Exhibition and Conference, where the industry was showing more optimism than in previous years with the approval of a $40 billion project in Kitimat, the largest project in British Columbia history.
Warren also spoke to his recent article about the Alberta Throne speech and industry reaction to its sweeping regulatory and fiscal changes, and has an interview from the Canada Green Building Council’s recent conference where he talked to PCL Construction’s Chris Palmer about using sensors, cloud-based data and machine learning to make the construction process more efficient.
