This week on TCR Express digital media editor Warren Frey talks to Journal of Commerce staff writer Russell Hixson about some of the stories he’s covered in the last week, including the increasing level of debate in the industry as British Columbia introduces compulsory trades legislation. Russell also covered a new velodrome project in downtown Edmonton and went into the technical challenges of building the structure in Edmonton’s cold climate.

Daily Commercial News staff writer Angela Gismondi attended a webinar last week entitled Beyond Trending: Confronting Anti-Black Racism - Not an Occasional Act. The event, held in celebration of Black History Month featured a panel discussion with Black leaders within the labour movement. Daily Commercial News staff writer Don Wall wrote about the Feb. 12 demolition of three smokestacks and four boiler buildings at the former Lambton generating station near Corunna in southwestern Ontario.
