On this week’s edition of TCR Express, Daily Commercial News staff writer Angela Gismondi joins digital media editor Warren Frey to discuss some of the stories she’s covered over the last week and upcoming events affecting the construction industry.
Angela has been attending the Ontario Good Roads Association virtual conference over the past week and speakers such as Ontario minister of transportation Caroline Mulroney and minister of infrastructure Laurie Scott along with Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath emphasized the continued importance of building infrastructure during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
Angela also attended the Toronto Construction Association’s (TCA) annual general meeting, where TCA president and CEO John Mollenhauer stressed the importance of maintaining the construction industry’s position as an essential service. Angela also recently filed a story about the Skilled Trades College of Canada, which is seeing an influx of new students from other professions who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic and are looking to enter the trades as a new career.
