This week on the Construction Record podcast, Maple Reinders Group president Harold Reinders joins digital media editor Warren Frey in the first of a special series of podcasts in partnership with the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) about creating and leading a safety culture within one’s organization.
Reinders explained at his company’s own development of a safety culture and the role of leadership in fostering safety as the primary concern of both large and small construction companies. He also discussed the role of the OGCA and the League of Champions safety association and their plans to improve safety culture across the industry in 2022.
Reinders also stressed the importance of mental health, both given the current strain of the COVID-19 pandemic and looked to the horizon to highlight upcoming safety concerns.
