On this episode of the Construction Record podcast, digital media editor Warren Frey talks to Zero Carbon Building Program manager Fin MacDonald about how the program works and how construction can certify new and existing operations to ensure projects can reduce or eliminate carbon.
MacDonald also spoke to the recent Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) “Building Lasting Change” conference in Toronto, the first in-person version of the conference since the COVID-19 pandemic began in early 2020.
He also looked at reasons to be optimistic as both industry and government look to hit clearly stated carbon reduction goals for 2030 and 2050 and gave a preview of new technologies on the horizon which promise to push greenhouse gas emissions downward.
