In this episode of The Construction Record podcast, managing editor Vince Versace and daily editor Lindsey Cole look over the recent federal budget and its impact on the construction industry, both in terms of infrastructure and a push to bring more women and other under-represented sectors of the population into the workforce. Vince and Lindsey also discuss staff writer Don Wall’s recent visit to the demolition of the Nanticoke Generating Station on Lake Erie in Ontario.

Don also spoke to Ian Cunningham, the president and COO of the Council of Ontario Construction Associations (COCA), about the upcoming provincial election and some of COCA’s recent initiatives. Digital media editor Warren Frey also spoke to Michael Bertrand, an independent safety consultant who spoke at the Actsafe safety conference in Vancouver about incident investigation reports and some of the stumbling blocks employers can hit when filling out forms reporting an accident.

Make sure to stay tuned to The Construction Record’s next episode, which will feature interviews and discussion from the Canadian Construction Association’s annual conference in Banff, Alta.
